Required Tools

Whenever you are planning to go on a drive in the sand, take these along with you:

    • Traction mats
    • Extra tire
    • Tire pressure gauge
    • Rope of more than 14.’
    • Shovel
    • Tow straps
    • Gallons of water

Fold able shovels are also available in the market if you want to save some space for yourself, and your car’s ordinary floor mats can also act the same as your traction mats.

The recommendation of an extra tire is very necessary for driving on the beach and elsewhere. The sand will cause no harm to your tire, but there is a little chance of getting a flat tire. Getting your car stuck into sand is a terrible situation, but there are methods to get out of it. Some of them are listed below.

Step 1: Let Go Of The Gas Pedal.

Pushing the gas pedal will do nothing but spin the tires, which would cause you further trouble as the tires will dig deeper. Get out of the car, look at the situation instead of flooring it, and create a plan from there.

Step 2: Bring Out The Traction Mats.

Lay the traction mats behind the rear tires. Now back up and try to get the car out of the sand. And if that’s not working, look for the next step.

Step 3: Bring Out The Shovel.

A little bit of elbow grease is needed by the deep sandpits to get out of it. You can use a shovel to dig a hole in front of all four tires. Try to construct a tough-packed way that is a few feet away from the tires. You also might have to clean the sand from beneath the vehicle before attempting to drive out. Keep one thing in mind; the resistance will be less if less sand touches your car.

Step 4: Bring The Traction Mats Again.

After shoving the sand away from the tires, bring and lay down the traction mats once again and start driving out slowly. Prevent pushing the brakes and gas.

Step 5: Sprinkle Some Water On The Sand

If nothing happens after performing the previous steps, you can start wetting the sand. But don’t take water from the gallon jugs, as it is kept only if the engine overheats. You might have an ocean near you, with a lot of water, you can take water from that, so that the sand will bond together, making it easier for you to drive out.

Step 6: look For Someone Else To Help You Out.

If any of the other steps are not working, in the end, all you can do is take out the two straps and a rope and look for someone who can help you to get out in such a situation.

Conclusion

The process to get your car out of sand seems a little tricky. So, your strength doesn’t matter; you have to be very calm and work according to that. You have to be clever. And with that, you require a few tools which will help you big time. Using tools can make your work very easy.
